GFTW
GFTW is the abbreviation for Gleaning For The World, which is located in central Virginia. GFTW is a humanitarian aid organization that provides efficient delivery of high quality life-saving supplies to victims of poverty and devastation. Jonathan Falwell is board chairman.
Gleaning For The World was recently named the “Most Efficient Charity” in America by Forbes Magazine and has shipped more than $500 million in supplies over the past 13 years. GFTW is often the first organization on the scene when a natural disaster strikes, providing bottled water and other life-saving supplies. Local churches often work directly with GFTW to serve as host sites and staging locations when natural disasters occur – providing a direct link between the local church and the community-in-need.
GFTW’s unique operations’ model allows it to not only help in times of natural disasters, but also to provide ongoing supplies to victims of poverty throughout the world. In 2011 alone, GFTW provided tens of thousands of pairs of shoes to people without them in Africa, hundreds of thousands of blankets to servicemen and women in the U.S. and tens of thousands of nutritional meals to those facing starvation in under developed countries.
